Cars in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.

A senior official said the attack rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
